“You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate.” — Luke 6:36 (NLT)

Hey Lightgliders!
When we understand how deeply God loves us, it changes how we see and treat others! Through Jesus, God showed us compassion. He saw our need and came to rescue us. As we learn to receive His love, we can share that love with the people around us.
Having compassion means being tenderhearted toward others—caring about what they are going through and looking for ways to help. It means imagining what it might be like to be in their shoes and treating them with love, dignity, and respect. Every person we meet is made in God’s image and worthy of our care!
Compassion grows as we put love into action. We can write a note of encouragement, listen when someone is having a hard day, invite someone sitting alone to join us at lunch, or help our parents with a chore. Even when we don’t know exactly how someone feels, we can listen and show them they matter.
Who needs a little extra care today? Think of one way you could show that person compassion. A small act of kindness can make a big difference!
Imagine if each of us showed compassion every day. It would change the world. Together, let’s help others experience a glimpse of God’s love!

Dream of ways to shine this week. Here are some suggestions!
• Be a Lunchroom Leader! Look for someone sitting alone at lunch or recess and invite them to join you. Including others shows compassion and helps them feel seen and valued - just like Jesus sees us!
• Write or Speak Kind Words! Write a short note or say something kind to a classmate, teacher, or family member who might be having a hard day. Compassion can be as simple as using your words to lift someone up!
• Listen and Help! When a friend or sibling is upset, stop what you’re doing and really listen. Offer to pray for them or help in a small way. Listening with care shows that your heart is full of God’s love.
