Hey Lightgliders!
This week, we’re talking about the Lightglider value of confidence—and how it grows out of a deep understanding of Redemption!
Confidence comes from a strong belief that you are known and loved. We can live with confidence because of how much God knows and loves us! But how can we be so sure of this?
Because of what Jesus did at the cross! Remember what it means to redeem something? To buy it back. God sent Jesus to redeem us, to purchase back our lives. This means that we never have to question our value, no matter what anyone says or thinks about us. We are known and greatly loved by the Creator of the universe!
Never forget how valuable you are. You always have a reason to be confident because of what Jesus did for you. Our confidence does not come from our abilities, how many friends we have, or how well we behave. These things change, but God’s love does not! Our confidence comes from His immeasurable love for us, demonstrated by Jesus at the cross.
When our confidence is anchored in God’s unchanging love, we can find the courage to shine in dark places and stand up for what is right. We can also admit when we are wrong, ask for forgiveness, and turn back to God. We don’t have to pretend to be perfect to be loved!
Understanding Redemption reminds us that God knows us completely and loves us deeply. Because of this, we can face each day with confidence!

Dream of ways to shine this week. Here are some suggestions!
• Walk tall in God’s love! When you feel nervous at school, practice remembering that God loves you and calls you valuable. Take a deep breath, stand tall, and remind yourself, “I am loved by God!”
• Speak up for what’s right! Confidence gives you courage to stand up for others, even if it feels scary. If someone is being left out or treated unfairly, show confidence by speaking kind words or inviting them in.
•Admit mistakes boldly! True confidence means you don’t have to hide your failures. If you mess up, say sorry quickly and move forward, knowing your value doesn’t change because of God’s love.
