Hey Lightgliders!
This week we are discussing humility.
Last week we introduced Chapter 2 of the Far Greater Story: Rebellion—how we have all rebelled against God and fallen short of His goodness and love. Even though we are created to shine like stars in the universe, none of us is perfect. Sin and selfishness have been part of our world since the Garden of Eden, and we still see their effects today, both in ourselves and in the world around us.
Admitting that we need God takes humility.
To live with humility means recognizing that we cannot depend on our own talents, accomplishments, or even our good behavior to save us. We need God’s love, forgiveness, and rescue. That’s what makes the good news of Jesus so amazing!
Humility helps us take the focus off ourselves. Instead of always trying to prove how good, talented, or important we are, we can trust in Jesus, live in God’s love, and look for ways to love and serve others.
When you go on enough Yonders missions, you’ll eventually find one filled with puzzles called “Keep Out!” That’s a good name for it, because anyone who is too proud to fail might want to keep out! To complete the mission, you’ll need humility. You might fail at some puzzles before you figure them out, and that’s okay.
The same is true in life. Sometimes you’ll succeed, and sometimes you’ll fail. Through it all, remember that you need God, keep learning, and stay humble!

• Read James 4:10 in the Bible. What will God do as we humble ourselves?
• What does it mean to be humble?
• In what ways do you take an interest in others?
• What is one area of weakness where you need God’s help?
• What are ways to point others to Jesus?
Use your Lightgliders Journal to answer these questions!
• Postcard Week!! Send postcards depicting your favorite Bible story to your friends and nominate your favorite ones! Use your creativity to shine in the Academy this week!

Dream of ways to shine this week. Here are some suggestions!
• Ask for help! When something is hard at school, home, or on a team, shine by admitting you don’t know it all and asking a parent, teacher, or friend for help instead of pretending you’ve got it all figured out.
• Celebrate others! Instead of wanting the spotlight for yourself, look for ways to cheer on your friends, classmates, or siblings when they do something great. Be the loudest fan in the stands!
• Say “I’m sorry” and mean it! When you make a mistake or hurt someone, practice humility by apologizing sincerely and not making excuses.
Join us for Prayer Time with Penelope – Wednesday (5:30pm EST / 4:30pm CST), and Friday (4pm EST / 3pm CST)! We’ll meet at the Prayer Circle, which is north of the Track.
