This Week In Lightgliders:
Humility
Message
This week we are introducing the Lightglider value of humility. We learned last week about the Lightglider value of purpose and how our lives matter because God created us. Even though God has uniquely created each of us to shine like stars in the universe, we must come to an understanding that we are not perfect. The sin and selfishness that began in the Garden of Eden carries on today in every human heart and causes division, brokenness, and strife. Admitting our need for God's love and forgiveness requires humility. Living with humility means to acknowledge our weaknesses and to live with dependence upon God's love, and not upon our own talents and successes which will eventually fail us. Only with humble hearts can we take the focus of ourselves, receive God's love, and truly focus on the needs of others.
Verse
"Don't be selfish; don't try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don't look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too." ~Philippians 2:3-4 (NLT)
