Hey Lightgliders!

‍

After a recent Yonders mission, I was talking with Santiago in the courtyard about the Lightglider values. I want these values to deeply impact how I think, how I act, and how I behave.They are especially important to remember in times of uncertainty and pressure, like when I’m battling a Clampneck Machine in the Yonders! 

‍

A value is a principle that affects our decisions and behaviors. Most every family, community, and culture live by a set of values. Lightgliders seek to live with five values: purpose, humility, confidence, hope, and love. These values are inspired by the story of God’s love for us revealed in the Bible. 

• Purpose: Because God created us in His image (Genesis 1:27), our lives are valuable. They have purpose.

• Humility: No one is perfect; we all fall short of God’s standard of goodness (Romans 3:23). A deep understanding of this produces a life of humility.

• Confidence: Knowing that God loves us and that Jesus died for our sins at the cross despite our shortcomings generates a strong sense of confidence (Ephesians 2:8-10). We can be confident because we are greatly loved by the only One who matters!

• Hope: Because the future is in God’s hands and He promises to restore the brokenness around us, we can always look ahead with hope believing that good things are coming. When we live with hope, we give hope to others (Romans 15:13).

• Love: With Jesus as our example, we seek to love. Such love is not a feeling. It is a choice that inspires actions that put the needs of others before our own (John 15:13). This is exactly what Jesus did at the cross!

Just like a good seed properly nourished helps to produce a beautiful tree, good values help to produce beautiful lives.

Hey Lightgliders!

‍

As a Lightglider, you are sent on missions from Lightglider Academy to restore the land of Glideon. The third and final goal of a Lightglider is to restore. To restore something means to bring it back to the way it was meant to be. Glideon was not meant to be covered in this dark mysterious substance that we call blight. No, it was meant to be beautiful and full of purpose. When you clear the blight, you are bringing Glideon back to what it was intended to be!

‍

The Scriptures tell us that one day God will fully restore this broken world. This is a day that we all can look forward to with hope. In the meantime, Lightgliders seek to restore the beauty, purpose, joy, and dignity of this world and everyone in it. In doing so, we serve as signposts of what is to come. A signpost is like a great big billboard telling everyone who passes by what they can look forward to. When we carry out deeds of compassion, beauty, and justice, we give the world a glimpse of what is to come. God’s light shines through us to give the world hope, and that is always worthwhile!

Hey Lightgliders!

The three goals of a Lightglider are Respect, Rescue, and Restore. I want to take a moment to talk about Rescue. As Lightgliders, we have the awesome responsibility of going on Yonders missions to rescue the Gliddles from danger. We put on armor, glide into the Yonders, and free them from the toxic blight and the control of the Machines. Rescuing others from dangerous situations requires courage and strength of character. Remember that!

Did you know that God is a rescuer? He stopped at nothing to rescue us!

‍

You, me, and everyone on earth need to be rescued from sin and death. When we sin, we miss the mark of God’s standard of goodness and we contribute to the world’s brokenness. So God the Father sent Jesus His Son to earth to rescue us. Through his life, death, and resurrection, Jesus makes a way for us to be reconciled to God and to experience His love forever.

This is the greatest rescue mission of all time!

When you login to Lightgliders there are three options on the right side of your screen - This Week, Lightglider Academy, and Faith & Fun.

Faith & Fun is where lots of, well, faith and fun can be found! When you click on the Faith & Fun button, you’ll be taken to TONS of games, videos, sticker pages, and transmissions! They’re broken down into categories, so you can choose which ones interest you the most!

You’ll notice there are different colors, so here’s what they all mean:

• Everything in PURPLE is a game. Every game’s thumbnail has a key that gives you more information about the game. For example…some text

You’ll see a difficulty bar ranging from beginner to expert.

If you see one blue person icon, that means it is a single player game…just for you to play!

If you see a green world icon, it is an online multiplayer game, so you can play with others logged into Lightgliders.

If you see a two green person icon, that means it is a local multiplayer game, so grab someone around you and play!

• Everything in RED is a transmission from a Lightglider leader to help you learn your way around Lightgliders.

• Everything in BLUE is a Lightgliders Television video, otherwise known as LGTV, where you can watch Academy gameplay, tutorials, and Bible WHAT’s with Marlon!

Every week the Lightgliders community focuses on a specific theme designed to help us grow and shine! Throughout the year you’ll learn about things like Joy, Creation, Purpose, The Bible, The Far Greater Story, and much more!

‍

When you login to Lightgliders, you should see three options on the right side of your screen. The top option is This Week. This is where you’ll find everything you need related to the weekly theme. This includes the weekly message from a Lightglider leader discussing the theme and Bible memory verse, the Spark and Prayer videos related to the theme, and your Lightglider Journal, where you can record all that you’re learning, thinking, and feeling. In addition, you will most likely see the Game of the Week where you can compete to be on the leaderboard and receive a prize as well as the Spotlight Blog highlighting specific Lightgliders for the ways they shine.

Hey Lightgliders!

Last week we talked about goals and why they matter! Lightgliders pursue three goals each day - respect, rescue, and restore. The first goal of a Lightglider is to respect. We seek to show respect to others and to ourselves. But, how do we do that? What does that even mean? 

‍

When we respect, we are acknowledging worth. You and everyone you meet is worthy of respect because we each were created by God and in His image. We show respect in the way we treat people and in the way we treat ourselves. Therefore, we should seek to care about everyone. We should also care for our minds, hearts, and bodies. 

‍

Whether it’s your best friend or someone you don’t get along with very well, choosing to show respect is what Lightgliders strive to do. So, when you’re in Mission Control, the Courtyard, the Library, or the Innovation Lab, look for ways to show respect to the other Lightgliders.

Bryce here! Good job in the previous Bunker! You’re becoming a tremendous Lightglider. I have another mission for you. We’ve found another Bunker that creates Machines, this time underneath the big lake in the Yonders. The Machines there will be alerted to your presence, so stay sharp! Remember, different Gliddles are better at battling some Machines than others, so pay attention to the colors of the Machines and your Gliddles! Right-click to swap your active Gliddle!

Hey Lightglider!

Do you know what a goal is? A goal is the idea of a future result that we are committed to achieve. We as Lightgliders have three goals that never change: RESPECT, RESCUE, and RESTORE! Every day we are committed to these goals because we seek to see a world where everyone and everything is respected, rescued, and restored! We respect ourselves and each other at Lightglider Academy. We rescue Gliddles from the clutches of the Machines. And we restore the land from the blight.

Setting goals is important because they give us something to strive for! They also help us live with purpose and to spend our time wisely. When we set a goal, we commit to think and act in ways that will help us reach it.

Blighted Institute

Hello again! It’s Tambika, and I have a tricky mission for you. We’ve found a major source of blight in the Yonders: some kind of old abandoned Institute. It’s full of empty classrooms, broken tech, and lots and lots of blight! We need you to go in there and clear out all the blight!

Have you been collecting the Lilies that grow in the Yonders? Not only are they pretty, but they somehow grow without being harmed by the blight! Please bring back some of these Lilies for research. Every mission has 10 Lilies growing in them. Can you find them all?

We’ve found some sort of locked door that only opens with coins. I wonder who put this kind of toll entrance there? What treasures are behind that door? Will you spend the coins to open the door? The choice is yours!

Hey Lightglider!

Did you know that the Lightgliders story that you have entered into points to a far greater, far more important story? In Lightgliders we seek to respect, rescue, and restore. And you will learn how this points to The Far Greater Story, the true story of God’s love for us revealed in the Bible!

‍

The Bible reveals God as the ultimate respecter, rescuer, and restorer. He RESPECTS us by creating us in His image and giving us dignity and purpose. He RESCUES us from the grip of sin and death through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. And He promises to RESTORE us and our broken world one day so that we may live forever with Him. This is The Far Greater Story.

We are so glad you’re here. Yes, you are here to play games, meet friends, and have fun. But, your purpose for being here is far greater!

Hover Frenzy

It’s madness on the hoverboard assembly floor! With so many Lightgliders that need new hoverboards, production is trying to keep up! Help keep assembly on track by catching the falling hoverboards and putting them on the conveyor belt before they all fall to the ground. Purple hoverboards are worth more points, so be sure to grab those when you can! Watch out though, you can’t carry too many!

Hey Lightgliders!

‍

If you are new around here, we - the other Lightglider leaders and me - want you to know that you were MADE TO SHINE! That is something you will hear a lot here because we must believe this and be reminded of it regularly. Let me tell you what this means.

• God created you uniquely. There is no one in the history of the world like you. No one else has your exact personality, interests, and talents. In other words, you were made. 

• You have opportunities every day to use your uniqueness to love God and to love others in ways that only you can. When you do this, you shine. You bring light into the world. And, if there is one thing you need to know about light, it always defeats darkness.

• When you put these two ideas together, it is easy to see that you were made to shine! 

‍

And this is what we Lightgliders seek to do each day. This can feel like a big responsibility. But, like a candle in a dark tunnel, even the smallest light can be blinding. If you’ve been to Machine Bunker in the Yonders, you know what I mean!

‍

Jesus is the true light of the world. As we follow Him, we will reflect Him and will shine like stars in the heavens. Let’s reflect His love and light everywhere we go this year!

Waterfall Cavern

Hello again! It’s Tambika, and I’m giving you a new mission in Waterfall Cavern, just underneath Waterfall Meadow. This cave seems to be where a lot of the blight is coming from, so we need to get in there and destroy the blight inside! Click on blight next to you to clear it. You can click and drag on multiple blight patches to restore them quickly! Blight usually covers treasures and Materials in the Yonders. Go ahead and grab them; you can trade them for cool stuff here at the Academy!

Clearing blight uses RES, the yellow bar to the left of your screen. If you run out, don’t worry. Just come back to the Academy and hang out. Your RES will recharge over time, and then you can go back to the mission where you last passed a checkpoint! Be on the lookout for RES orbs in the Yonders as well. Don’t grab the RES orbs if you’re already full on RES, or they’ll be wasted!

Hey there! It is the beginning of a new year at Lightglider Academy. We always begin the year by refreshing the community on what it means to be a Lightglider. My name is Kwan, and it’s my job to make sure you’re outfitted, trained, and ready for action.

‍

Lightgliders are defenders of good, a force made up of individuals just like you that shine in the darkness and help out those in need. Right now, the land of Glideon is in need!

‍

For unknown reasons, a mysterious gooey substance called blight is spreading all over the land. At the same time, strange Machines have appeared and are kidnapping lovable creatures called the Gliddles! It’s up to us to go on missions to clear away the blight and rescue the Gliddles from the Machines!

‍

Being a Lightglider is a purposeful adventure. As you play, you will have opportunities to learn about the greatest adventure there is–to know, grow in, and show the love of God.

‍

If you are here in Lightgliders on a computer or on a mobile device, click “Lightglider Academy” to access the world of Glideon. Explore the Courtyard, Innovation Lab, Library, and Mission Control! Or visit the Yonders to go on exciting missions. You’ll battle Machines, rescue Gliddles, clear blight, meet other Lightgliders, and much more. Play minigames, watch videos, create postcards, and read messages. As you do, you will level up your light bar and unlock more fun content.

Many of the activities inside Lightgliders are color-coded, so make sure you know what the colors mean. Let me try to help!

Everything in Green is a Spark. These are short video stories that help us learn an important lesson from the Bible.

Everything in Orange is a Prayer. These are short prayer videos to do on your own or with a family member.

Everything in Pink is a Postcard. Customize these and send them to your friends!

Everything in Red is a Message. These are articles about Lightgliders gameplay, the weekly lessons, Spotlight announcements, and more. (Fun fact: You are currently reading one!)

Everything in Blue is LGTV.  These are videos to encourage fun, learning, and laughter. They include Tutorials, Bible WHAT?!, Gliddle Game Gab, and more!

In time, you’ll learn more than just skills for battle and adventure. You’ll learn about the Far Greater Story found in the Bible, the story about the God who loves you more than you could possibly imagine.  As Lightgliders, we seek to RESPECT, RESCUE, and RESTORE every day because that is what God has done and is doing for us, in us, and through us. You were made to use what He has given you to help a world in need. You were made to shine!

Glider Training

Hey Lightglider, it’s Bryce! We all know that hovering above the ground on your glider is a blast, but wouldn’t it be awesome to fly? I’m ready to train you to use the hover tech in our gliders to soar to new heights! Tap and hold to gain altitude, and release to descend! Managing the force of your glider as well as the incoming obstacles is the key to a good flight. Fly as long as possible to get the high score!

Many Christians throughout the world - and throughout history! - celebrate the season of Advent. Advent means “arrival” and Christians from many backgrounds celebrate this four week season with reflections on hope, peace, love, and joy, focusing on the arrival of Jesus!
